Beard Family Trips & Vacations

Alaska in September 13th to 19th, 2007

Planned and Actual Expenses

The trip was planned using airline points from Continental and Northwestern Airlines to get two free economy flights (excluding $85 annual fee for a Continental Airline Credit Card and $10 in fees when getting the tickets.  Points were also utilized from various hotel systems to get free nights at Homewood Suites (1 night), Springhill Suites (1 night), and Clarion Suites (2 nights).  A second night at the Springhill Suites was achieved with using a $75 gift card using points through the mypoints.com program.  This left only $10.32 to be paid for that second night.

The airline points were mainly from an international business trip to Malaysia that Wanda had made earlier in the year.  The hotel points were from credit card purchases and business and personal stays at Hilton, Marriott, and Choice hotels.

Free breakfasts were available at each hotel.
