October 17, 2008 - Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel
Pictures from the Eiffel Tower:
Wanda and the Eiffel Tower as we approached it from the south through Parc du Champ de Mars (the park). We were walking to it before the sun went down. The line to buy tickets and get on the car going up took almost an hour, so it was dark by the time we got up to the second platform. The third (or highest) platform was another 45-minute wait, so we didn't even try to go up there. Bathrooms are located on the first platform for a fee. So is a store and a cafe.
Inside the waiting area for the car that was approaching from above. You can see it in the lower left pictures. The upper center and right pictures are of the equipment used to move the cars up and down. They rose as the car goes up.

The tower lit up at night. When they first turned on the lights, while we were waiting in line, the blinked in various patterns.
