Tokyo - March 18:  Ueno Park

website:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ueno_Park

Address of the location (from the website):    Ueno-Koen, Taito-ku, Tokyo 110-0007

The main entrance to Ueno Park was across from one of the exits from Ueno Station.  Of course, you had to go up some steps to get into the park.

One of the first things you see when you get up the steps is...  Cherry Blossoms...  and some figures that we decided might be for the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival.

Signs for the park are in both Japanese and English.  There is even a red arrow stating "you are here".

The park was getting ready for the upcoming festival with decorations being put up along the pathways.

Of course, more cherry blossoms:

Not sure why there was a totem pole in this park, but it wasn't far from the Ueno Zoo.

Some of the local buildings, structures, temples, and shrines in the park:

Wanda, Courtney, and Conner with the Tokyo National Museum still a distance away:

This was where we saw some of the first homeless in Tokyo.  As in the U.S., they congregated in the park areas.
