June 2, 2010 - Sound Of Music Tour

Pictures from the Sound Of Music Tour:

Note: It rained throughout the whole tour.

Bus and guide for our tour in English.

Pictures while driving through Salzburg.  The bridge in the pricture on the right was the one shown in the movie.

This mansion was used for showing the back of the Von Trapp's house in the movie.  This is the Palace of Leopoldskron.

Our guide is explaining about the mansion really being two different mansions that was filmed.  The picture on the right is a restaurant in whose parking lot we were standing in across the lake from the mansion.

Showing the lake that the mansion was on.

Looking at the Salzburg Castle (Hohensalburg Fortress) that overlooked the area.

The tree line is the lane and trees that the children hung from in the move when their father returned from Vienna with the Countess and their "Uncle".

The gazebo used for the song "Sixteen Going On Seventeen".  The rainy day was at least appropriate for this location.

The Hellbrunn Palace is the location that the gazebo is currently located.

More pictures of the castle overlooking the city.

Driving back through city; the building with the tower is the Nunberg Convent where Maria was from.

TheSalzkanergut / Lake District area on the way to Mondsee where the parish church is located that was used for the wedding in the movie.

The bus used for the Sound of Music tour.  Taken while on a "stretch" break at the lake.

Moutain scenery on the way to Mondsee.

The parish church exterior in Mondsee where the wedding was filmed.

Interior views of the parish church in Mondsee.

Some of the shops in Mondsee.
